A Maison born of friendship and passion

In 2009, after four decades at Patek Philippe, Laurent Ferrier decided to bring his own vision of watchmaking to life. Driven by the desire to create timepieces that are both understated, refined, and technically demanding, he founded his eponymous maison.

This adventure would not have been possible without François Servanin, Ferrier’s longtime friend and former motor-racing companion. Together, they had shared a passion for speed, and their bond naturally carried over into this new project, to which Servanin lent his support.

At their side, Laurent Ferrier’s son played a decisive role: without his expertise as a movement constructor, the brand might never have come into existence. Ferrier himself often recalls that, had his son been a banker, he probably would never have embarked on this journey.

The spark that launched the Maison

With the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral, Laurent Ferrier won the Men’s Watch Prize at the 2010 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. This prestigious distinction propelled the maison onto the international stage, granting its creations worldwide recognition and laying the foundations of a reputation that has only continued to grow.

A true horological manifesto, this timepiece embodies the very essence of the brand. Its rounded, exceptionally pure case conceals a technical feat: a tourbillon with a double balance spring. The result is remarkable precision combined with timeless elegance.

In 2025, the maison celebrates its fifteenth anniversary by paying tribute to its founding history with the unveiling of the Classic Tourbillon at Geneva Watch Days. This exclusive edition, limited to just five pieces, echoes the spirit of the 2019 model while featuring a platinum case (as shown opposite and below). An anniversary creation that perfectly illustrates the continuity of the Laurent Ferrier style, designed to stand the test of time with distinction.

The Classic Moon Silver

In 2024, Laurent Ferrier once again triumphed at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, this time in the Calendar and Astronomy category. The Classic Moon Silver embodies the aesthetic that has always defined the maison.

Technically, this creation marks a milestone: the introduction of the brand’s first moon phase, integrated within an annual calendar. The moon itself is crafted from Murano aventurine glass, hand-painted, filled with Super-LumiNova, fired, and then engraved to reveal craters, before being entirely coated with a translucent blue enamel.

Beneath the sapphire caseback lies the LF 126.02 calibre, offering an 80-hour power reserve and operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It is elevated by exceptional finishing: bridges finely adorned with rhodium-plated Côtes de Genève, a perlage-decorated mainplate, hand-polished anglage, countersunk screws, and a long-blade ratchet pawl (“bassiné”) meticulously polished by hand.

The art of decoration according to Laurent Ferrier

Decoration is a true signature. Every component, visible or hidden, is finished with the utmost care, in the purest tradition of Geneva haute horlogerie. The goal is twofold: to magnify the aesthetics of the movements and to ensure flawless finishing.

Among these techniques, anglage holds a central place. Executed entirely by hand, it consists of beveling and polishing the edges of components, giving them incomparable light and softness. It is a work of patience and precision, requiring rare savoir-faire.

Alongside anglage, other emblematic decorations also play their part: perlage, which adorns the mainplates with subtle circular motifs, and Côtes de Genève, the parallel stripes that embellish the bridges. These traditional finishes transform each movement into a true work of art.
