The 140 years of Alpina

Alpina was founded in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser, a watchmaker and member of the Swiss Watchmaking Corporation. Alpina's primary goal was to create high-quality timepieces capable of withstanding the most challenging conditions, which quickly established it as a pioneer in sports watchmaking.

In the 1930s, Alpina launched the Alpina 4, a watch that met four criteria of robustness: shock resistance, anti-magnetic, water resistance, and stainless steel construction. This innovation solidified Alpina's reputation in the field of sports watches.

In 2023, Alpina celebrated its 140th anniversary and continues to produce watches inspired by its rich horological heritage and pioneering spirit.

A historical model

This watch was created by Alpina in the 1930s. A batch of historic movements, used for this type of watch, was recently discovered. They were reused and reinterpreted for the limited series produced by Alpina in 2023 to commemorate its 140th anniversary.

Alpiner Extreme

The Alpina Avalanche, launched in 2005, is a sports watch that marked the revival of Alpina in the early 2000s. Designed for modern adventurers, the Avalanche stands out for its robust and dynamic case, bold lines, and excellent readability.

The Alpiner Extreme is a reinterpretation of the Avalanche, preserving the adventurous spirit and robustness of the original while introducing contemporary improvements in materials, design, and technology.
